Thank You Alfred is a ska band that plays a similar style to Less Than Jake, MU330, Slapstick, etc.
The band formed in February of 1998 with just singer and guitarist Chris Curtin and guitarist Eric
Buckley. They played a high school Coffee House at their high school in March 1998 and we're
noticed by trumpet player and singer Jeff Vatore, original drummer Joe Schommer, and original
bassist Ryan Egan, all of whom joined the band shortly after. Egan was replaced by Mike Gonzalez
in June 1998. In March 1999, Brian Lee joined Thank You Alfred to play trombone. One month later,
in April 1999, Linda Capato joined up to double up on trumpet with Jeff. One month after Linda
joined, Joe was forced to leave the band due to lac of commitment and availability. He was
quickly replaced by Josh Pratt.
In July 1999, the band recorded their first EP "Money Is Everything" at Na/Da Studios in New
Windsor with John Naclerio from Lounge. They released it on September 11, 1999. In October
1999. In October 1999, Jessica Briggs joined the band to play alto saxophone. In December
1999, Linda left the band and then in January 2000, Josh left as well. Josh was replaced current
drummer Dan McGovern, formerly of Not Good Enough (RIP). Jessica quit the band in April 2000.
With what seemed like the steady line-up of Chris, Jeff, Brian, Eric, Mike, and Dan, Thank You
Alfred began recording their first full length in July 2000 at Blue Room Studios in Goshen, NY
with Bobby Montemurro and Mike "Sexy Ass" Kalijian from One Fall Down. A lot of shit went
wrong during recording and then in September 2000, after two years of way too much
unnecessary bullshit, Mike was kicked out and replaced by Ken DaCosta (ex-Not Good Enough).
So with the current line-up of Chris (vocals/guitar), Jeff (vocals/trumpet), Brian Lee (trombone/
vocals), Eric (guitar), Ken (bass), and Dan (drums), Thank You Alfred is still working on thier
full length titled "Through the Silence."
